Geminus of Fossombrone

About Geminus of Fossombrone
Geminus is named among five martyrs traditionally associated with Fossombrone in central Italy. The Italian bishops’ historical diocesan inventory lists him with Aquilinus, Gelasius, Magnus, and Donatus among martyrs whose relics are kept in the church of San Filippo. It gives no separate account of Geminus’s family, occupation, or death.
The municipal description of San Filippo records a painting commissioned by the Fossombrone community that depicts the same five martyrs. This documents a sustained local remembrance, not an authenticated portrait or an individual biography. An older Roman Martyrology lists the group on 4 February. The calendar date is a historical commemoration and does not establish the day of Geminus’s death.
