About Hathumod of Gandersheim
Hathumod was the first abbess of Gandersheim and a daughter of the Saxon count Liudolf.
The scholarly register dates her abbacy from 852 to 874.
Agius wrote an account of her life and death soon after she died, before 877. This early hagiography is an important witness to her memory, although its purpose was religious commemoration.
Her Catholic commemoration is listed on November 29.
