About Jerome Lu Tingmei
Jerome Lu Tingmei was a teacher from Mokou in Guizhou. After studying the classics and succeeding his father as a schoolteacher, he encountered Catholic books and received baptism in 1853. He then taught the faith and supported the formation of a local Catholic community.
He helped plan a church at Mokou alongside other catechists. Opposition to the building led to arrests and demands that they renounce their religion. He was executed with Agatha Lin and Laurence Wang Bing in January 1858.
