About John Baptist Luo Tingyin
John Baptist Luo Tingyin practised medicine in Guizhou before becoming Catholic. After baptism, he introduced his family to the faith and continued helping neighbours through his clinic. He later turned to farming near a newly established seminary.
He helped with its construction and managed its land and business affairs. The church account describes his imprisonment with two seminarians while Martha Wang Luo Mande brought food to the captives. All four were executed together in July 1861. He was canonized in 2000 with the Chinese martyrs.
