Luke the Steward of the Kiev Caves
About Luke the Steward of the Kiev Caves
Luke is included among the monks of the Kiev Near Caves in the Orthodox Church in America’s account of their collective commemoration. The list identifies him as “the Steward” and records his individual feast on November 6.
The consulted notice supplies no fuller personal biography or exact life dates. His title and place in the monastic community are the limits of the account. They should not be expanded into invented details about his responsibilities, family, or death. His name remains part of the church’s remembrance of the Near Caves community.
