Marcellus of Capua
About Marcellus of Capua
Marcellus is remembered with Apuleius among the Christian martyrs associated with Capua. The Catholic Church in Norway preserves two incompatible accounts of their setting.
One places their arrest and death during Diocletian's persecution. Another links them with Simon Magus and Peter and moves the story into the apostolic period. These chronologies cannot be combined into a single secure narrative.
The source lists October 7 as their commemoration and notes that their observance belongs to local or particular calendars.
