About Mary Fu Guilin
Mary Fu Guilin was a Catholic teacher from Luopo in Hebei. After education at a mission school, she helped establish the Catholic community at Liu and taught in its school. Her work combined education with the practical development of a local congregation.
During the Boxer uprising, she was arrested while staying in a widow's home. The church account describes her execution outside the village. The individual notice places this in June, whereas the collective canonization account describes the group in July. The supported year is retained without imposing an unwarranted precise day.
