Paisius of the Kiev Caves
About Paisius of the Kiev Caves
Paisius was a monk of the Kiev Caves. The Orthodox Church in America's notice draws on the canon of the Far Caves fathers to describe his close friendship with Mercurius. The two shared a cell and were placed together in one grave after death. The notice distinguishes that burial tradition from the later separate reliquaries containing their remains. It gives no exact life dates or wider personal chronology.
