Peter Wu Guosheng
About Peter Wu Guosheng
Peter Wu Guosheng was born in Longping, Guizhou, in 1768. Raised in poverty, he eventually opened an inn. Catholic travelers introduced him to Christianity and helped him meet a missionary. He received baptism in 1796 and became a catechist.
Arrested during persecution, Wu refused an order to trample a crucifix. The Holy See records his execution on 7 November 1814. He was canonized in 2000 with the Chinese martyrs.
