About Peter Yi Myong-so

Peter Yi Myong-so came from a Catholic family in Chungcheong Province. His family moved to Jeolla Province, and he later settled at Seongjidong near Jeonju. He married Magdalena Hwang and had children.

During the persecution of 1866, Peter initially denied that he was a Catholic but soon withdrew the denial. After a brief release, he was arrested again.

He refused to renounce Catholicism or reveal fellow believers’ whereabouts despite severe punishment. He was executed on December 13, 1866.
