About Romulus
The Roman Martyrology lists Donatus, Secundian and Romulus with eighty-six companions at Concordia on February 17. The Diocese of Concordia-Pordenone continues to honor Donato, Secondiano, Romolo and their companion martyrs as local patrons and dates their martyrdom to 304, during the persecution under Diocletian. These sources support Romulus’s identity within a commemorated group, not a separate individual biography.
The local cathedral preserves a Passion narrative naming Romulus among the group and associating their memory with a tomb and relics at Concordia. Its accounts of interrogation, torture, execution and miraculous signs are hagiographic tradition rather than independently verified contemporary details. No personal dates, family history, occupation or birthplace are established in the sources reviewed, so none is supplied here.
