Rufus the Obedient of the Kiev Caves
About Rufus the Obedient of the Kiev Caves
Rufus lived in the Kiev Caves community during the fourteenth century. The Orthodox Church in America's notice remembers him as a hermit known for obedience, work, and fasting. It records his burial in the Far Caves and his inclusion in their common commemoration. The brief notice preserves those features of his monastic life without supplying exact life dates or a separate account of his final illness or death.
