About Salvador Lara Puente
Salvador Lara Puente was born in Berlín, Durango, on 13 August 1905. Financial hardship ended his seminary studies, and he went to work. He became an employee of a mining company and took part in Catholic youth activity, helping the parish priest Luis Batis Sáinz.
Lara was arrested with fellow Catholic collaborators during the persecution of 1926. On 15 August he was executed with his cousin David Roldán Lara, shortly after Batis and Manuel Morales were killed. He was canonized in 2000 with the Mexican martyrs.
