About Teresa Zhang Heshi
Teresa Zhang Heshi was born in Yuan, Hebei, in 1864. She married into the Zhang family and lived in Tchiang-kia-Tsi.
On 16 July 1900 she was captured in a garden and taken to a temple in Polin. There she was ordered to take part in worship contrary to her Catholic faith. The church account relates that she refused and was killed with her son and daughter. She was canonized in 2000 with the Chinese martyrs. The source's stated age conflicts with its birth year, so that age is not repeated here.
