About Agustín Caloca Cortés
Agustín Caloca Cortés was born in San Juan Bautista del Teúl, Zacatecas, on 5 May 1898. When the Guadalajara seminary closed, he continued his training under Cristóbal Magallanes. Ordained in 1923, he assisted at Totatiche and taught in its seminary.
Caloca helped the seminarians escape before he was arrested. He was imprisoned with Magallanes and refused an offer of freedom that did not include the older priest. They were executed at Colotlán on 25 May 1927. Caloca was canonized in 2000.
