Barhadbesciabas

About Barhadbesciabas
Barhadbesciabas, also called Barhadbesaba, is remembered as a deacon of Arbela in Assyria during the fourth century. The church biography places his death in the persecution of Christians under the Persian king Shapur II.
According to its martyr narrative, provincial authorities arrested and tortured him before ordering his execution in 355. The account names Aggai as the man ordered to kill him, but no words spoken by Barhadbesciabas are preserved in this profile.
The biography gives July 15 as his commemoration and also notes July 20 as an alternative.
