Biography
Caesarius of Terracina

About Caesarius of Terracina
Caesarius and Julian are named as martyrs of Terracina in early martyrological lists. The detailed acts attached to them are not authentic historical records.
The later narrative portrays Caesarius as an African deacon who stayed in Terracina. It presents Julian as a priest and companion.
Their story ends with the two men being thrown into the sea. That episode belongs to the received Passion, not to independently established evidence.
Their deaths are more plausibly placed about 300 than in the first century, where part of the legend situates them. Their Catholic commemoration is on November 1.
