About David Galván Bermúdez
David Galván Bermúdez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, on 29 January 1881. He entered the seminary as a teenager but left for several years. The church account includes an episode of violence against his girlfriend before his return to religious studies. After a period of probation, he resumed training and was ordained in 1909.
Galván taught at the seminary and supported poor workers, including shoemakers. On 30 January 1915 he went to help soldiers wounded in fighting in Guadalajara. He was arrested and executed that day. He was canonized in 2000 with the Mexican martyrs.
