Faustus of Milan

About Faustus of Milan
Faustus is a historically venerated martyr associated with Milan, sometimes named Faustinus. The traditional account describes him as a soldier.
The chronology attached to that account contains contradictions, combining people and offices from different centuries.
His notice developed through later martyrologies from a difficult early entry. Milan’s own liturgical books did not consistently commemorate him.
He appeared in an older Roman Martyrology on August 7, but not in the 2004 edition. His entry therefore represents historical veneration, not a claim of a current universal feast.
