Biography
Julius of Novara

About Julius of Novara
Julius of Novara is remembered as a priest honored on the island in Lake Orta. The church notice states that historical data for his personal life are absent.
A seventh-century life presents Julius and Julian as Greek clerics who traveled to Italy and founded churches. Some traditions call them brothers; other scholars consider the two names a possible duplication.
In that story, Julian remained at Gozzano while Julius settled and died on the island.
The notice records Julius's commemoration on January 31 and the continued presence of relics honored on the island. This later devotion is distinct from the uncertain chronology of the individual life.
