About Román Adame Rosales
Román Adame Rosales was born in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, on 27 February 1859. He was ordained in 1890 and later became parish priest of Nochistlán. His work included catechesis, visits to the sick, education for children, and building chapels in surrounding villages.
During persecution, he continued administering the sacraments in hiding. After someone disclosed his whereabouts, he was arrested. On 21 April 1927 he was executed at Yahualica. The church accounts also remember his concern for a soldier who refused to shoot him. Adame was canonized in 2000 with the Mexican martyrs.
